MTA Bridges and Tunnels operates the largest bridge and tunnel network in New York City, managing nine crossings that include seven bridges and two tunnels. Job Summary:
The Senior Project Manager is r esponsible for delivering complex technology and infrastructure projects supporting tolling and revenue collection operations. Defines project scope, manages cross-functional teams, and ensures project deliverables meet established goals within project timelines and budget constraints. The position will work on large-scale tolling projects, including the Back Office, Central Business District Tolling, and Open Road Tolling programs, as well as non-tolling systems such as Work Zone Speed Enforcement, Weigh in Motion, Revenue Recovery, and other complex, high-visibility projects. The complexity and scale of these projects require strong project management skills, in-depth knowledge of tolling and ITS, and an understanding of public-sector procurement processes. The position will also be responsible for developing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), coordinating procurement activities, and managing multiple consultant teams throughout project delivery.
Responsibilities:

Deliver complex technology and infrastructure tolling projects by managing project resources, schedules, deliverables, and timelines to achieve established project objectives.

Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and requirements for complex tolling and technology infrastructure projects.
-
Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including resource requirements, risk assessment and mitigation strategies, schedules, and project milestones.
-
Facilitate effective communication and coordination among internal stakeholders, external partners, and consultants involved in tolling system implementations, including coordination of procurement activities and consultant deliverables.
-
Monitor project performance, identify issues and potential impacts, and provide project status reports and recommendations to stakeholders.
-
Ensure project activities comply with applicable regulations, standards, policies, and requirements related to tolling technologies and infrastructure.

Reviews invoices and approves them if the work has contractual standards, as applicable

Qualification s :
Bachelor’s degree in arts/sciences (BA/BS) in Project Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience managing complex technology, infrastructure, systems implementation, or similar projects.
Demonstrated working knowledge managing complex projects, including project scope, resources, schedules, deliverables, and timelines.
Demonstrated working knowledge managing and coordinating resources, project teams, consultants, or contractors.
Demonstrated working knowledge integrating technology systems or managing technology-related projects.
Demonstrated working knowledge with infrastructure development, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), tolling systems, transportation technology, or other complex operational technology environments.
Demonstrated working knowledge coordinating technical teams and stakeholders across multiple functional areas.
Unrestricted driver's license in New York State.
Preferred :
Master’s degree in arts/sciences (MA/MS) in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related fiel d
Minimum 3 years of managerial or supervisory experience, including responsibility for directing project teams, consultants, contractors, or other resources.
Demonstrated working knowledge with public-sector procurement, including development of RFPs, Statements of Work (SOWs), and management of consultants or contractors.
Demonstrated working knowledge managing large-scale, high-visibility, or multiple concurrent projects.
Demonstrated working knowledge assessing project risks and developing mitigation strategies.
Demonstrated working knowledge communicating project status, issues, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders and management.
Demonstrated working knowledge with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and compliance considerations related to technology or infrastructure projects.
Demonstrated working knowledge managing multiple concurrent projects or large-scale, high-visibility initiatives.

Final salary is determined on experience, skillset, and alignment with compensation practices. The posted range reflects expected compensation and may be updated as market or business needs evolve.
