Seasonal Laborer Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation Kensico Dam Plaza 1 Bronx River Parkway, Valhalla, NY 10595 Start date is September 28, 2026 through January 15, 2027 with a schedule of 7:30 AM 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday and occasional weekend work Performs seasonal labor associated with the installation, maintenance, and removal of holiday lighting and decorations at Kensico Dam Plaza and fall maintenance at other park facilities Typical Duties: Assists with the installation and removal of holiday lights, decorations, displays, wreaths, and related materials Strings and secures lights on trees, shrubs, buildings, fences, and other structures Assists with testing lights and decorations and replacing bulbs, light strands, or other materials as needed Sets up and works from ladders and/or lifts and other approved equipment in accordance with safety procedures Loads, unloads, transports, and distributes lights, decorations, tools, ladders, extension cords, and other materials Assists with connecting and arranging extension cords, timers, and related lighting equipment Removes holiday lighting and decorations at the conclusion of the season. Organizes, packs, labels, and stores lighting, decorations, and related equipment for future use Keeps work areas clean and assists with general grounds cleanup associated with installation and removal activities Performs other seasonal maintenance and labor duties as assigned including mowing grass, pruning shrubs, weeding, leaf cleanup, etc. Perform janitorial duties such as vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning surfaces Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Work is performed primarily outdoors and may involve exposure to cold temperatures and other weather conditions. The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, and climbing ladders Employees must be able to safely lift and carry 40lbs of materials and equipment associated with the work Valid drivers license Ability to pass a background check Minimum age: 18 years old Compensation: This is an hourly position Salary range: $17.10 - $18.50 per hour.
