Full job description

At Jacobs, we’re not just designing infrastructure—we’re shaping resilient communities and sustainable environments. As a Geologist in our Bellevue, Washington office, you’ll join a dynamic team of nearly 150 geotechnical professionals across 15+ offices in North America, supporting a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work on projects from concept through construction—across both design-bid-build and design-build delivery models. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you’ll share technical insights across geographic boundaries and contribute to innovative solutions for projects ranging from local builds to global infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include:

•Participating in field assignments: soil and rock borings, CPT soundings, geophysical testing, instrumentation installation, and construction inspections

•Analyzing field logs and lab data to support geotechnical design decisions

•Designing shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, ground improvement, embankments, cut slopes, and more

•Performing seismic hazard analyses, including site-response studies and liquefaction evaluations

•Preparing calculation packages and technical documentation (memos, reports, specifications)

•Using advanced software tools such as Settle3D, Slide, LPILE, DeepXcav, FLAC, PLAXIS, and MathCAD for engineering analysis

•Reviewing construction submittals for compliance with design assumptions and contract requirements

Ready to build what’s next? Join Jacobs and be part of a team that’s redefining what’s possible in geotechnical engineering.
