Position Overview:
Build the future of rail with Siemens Mobility! We’re hiring Overhaul Technicians to join our locomotive truck overhaul shop in Lexington, NC. As part of a collaborative, hands-on team, you’ll help restore locomotive trucks for our TSSSA customers—supporting safe, reliable rail service through high-quality mechanical work. This role reports to the Customer Services Production Manager and works 1st shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
What your day-to-day will look like:

Perform all aspects of overhaul maintenance on Siemens locomotive trucks to meet production schedules and support the timely delivery of reliable equipment.

Removal, inspection, and fitment of components in accordance with Siemens work instructions to ensure quality, safety, and compliance standards are met.

Re-profile train wheelsets as required using a state-of-the-art wheel lathe to restore proper wheel geometry and support safe, dependable operation.

Preclean components with a pressure washer to prepare them for accurate inspection and efficient repair.

Move locomotive trucks safely using overhead cranes and lifting devices to maintain an efficient workflow and protect employees and equipment.

Partner with the warehouse team to collect required spare parts and materials, helping minimize delays and keep production moving.

Maintain a clean, organized workshop and complete additional tasks as directed by management, supervisors, and lead technicians to support a safe and productive work environment.

To thrive in this role, you have:

High School Diploma / GED.
-
2+ years relevant work experience within a predominately mechanical environment.

Experience in documenting actions and operations accurately.

Good knowledge and understanding of tool control, torque wrenches, measuring equipment, and PPE as appropriate.

Ability to understand and interpret relevant technical drawings and publications.
-
Ability to produce detailed technical reports.
-
Well demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in English.
