Quality Lab Technician | Valdosta, GA
Join a safety-focused manufacturing team as a Lab Technician supporting laboratory operations at the Valdosta, Georgia site. In this hands-on role, you will perform routine and non-routine analytical testing, maintain quality records, troubleshoot laboratory methods and equipment, and help ensure products meet safety, environmental, yield, and quality requirements.

Pay Rate: $18.00-25.00/hr Depending on experience

Contract: 6-month with ability to extend or convert

Schedule: Rotating shifts every 2 weeks

3rd Shift- 11pm- 7:30am *has a shift differential

2nd Shift- 3pm-11:30pm *has a shift differential

1st Shift- 7am-3:30pm

Schedule Flexibility: Willing and able to work rotating shifts, holidays when required, and potential overtime.
The Role: What You’ll Do
-
Laboratory Analysis: Perform routine and non-routine analyses on product and environmental samples to support manufacturing operations and quality requirements.

Analytical Instrumentation: Operate, maintain, standardize, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation, including balances, titrators, LC, GC, and pH meters.

Quality Systems: Support laboratory quality-management processes and assist with site-wide quality activities, including ISO 9001-related processes.

Data & Documentation: Maintain accurate analytical results, instrument records, standardization documents, equipment records, and analytical-method documentation as quality records.

Manufacturing Support: Develop working knowledge of laboratory methods used across the Valdosta manufacturing site to support business units and operating areas.

Method Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot routine methods used in production-unit laboratories and help resolve analytical issues that affect operations.

Continuous Improvement: Work with analytical and development chemists, operations leadership, and quality leaders to investigate problems, address complaints, improve results, and strengthen laboratory processes.

Method Adaptation: Assist with adapting new analytical methods for the site under the guidance of a chemist or quality leader, supporting new and existing products.

Laboratory Waste Management: Handle and dispose of laboratory waste safely and effectively in accordance with company guidelines and applicable local and federal regulations.

Training & Team Support: Train other laboratory technicians on routine laboratory methods and help team members solve method-related or analytical problems.

Safety & Collaboration: Participate in incident investigations, team meetings, and continuous-improvement activities while following all site safety protocols.

Additional Support: Complete other duties as assigned to support laboratory and manufacturing operations.
Qualifications
-
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
-
Preferred Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Natural Science, Chemistry, or a closely related field strongly preferred.
-
Laboratory Experience: Two or more years of laboratory experience through school, work, or a combination of both.
-
Chromatography: Experience with chromatography is required.
-
Instrumentation: Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory instrumentation, such as balances, titrators, liquid chromatography (LC), gas chromatography (GC), and pH meters.

Analytical Techniques: Experience performing analyses using analytical laboratory techniques.
-
Math Skills: Comfortable performing basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Communication: Able to clearly communicate concerns, read and follow written procedures in English, and work effectively with others.
-
Mindset: Proactive, solution-oriented, receptive to constructive feedback, adaptable to change, and committed to teamwork.

Safety Commitment: Demonstrated commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.
Desirable Skills
-
Experience using LIMS, SAP, or similar laboratory and enterprise software systems.

Experience supporting ISO 9001 or other quality-management systems.

Ability to identify root causes, investigate laboratory or process issues, and recommend practical improvements.

Experience training or mentoring laboratory personnel on analytical methods and equipment use.

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, audit-ready laboratory records.
