Connection Through Design.

JMD was built in beauty, one of the most competitive, discerning and emotionally driven categories in the world. It’s where we learned that every detail shapes perception, and our decades of work have proven that design creates connections.

We believe there is beauty in every category. Today we bring that same rigor to brands across all industries – crafting distinct identities, award-winning packaging and brand experiences that capture attention, foster loyalty and drive growth.

We build brands that create connections.

JMD is seeking a Mid-Level Designer to join our creative team and bring brand ideas to life across every consumer touchpoint, from packaging and merchandising to campaigns, social content, retail and brand identity.

Working closely with the VP Creative, Senior Art Director and Senior Designer, you'll develop concepts and design across 360 creative programs, then carry them through to production: building artwork mechanicals and DTOs, preparing files for print and managing the back and forth on retouching and comps.

This role is ideal for a versatile designer who loves seeing one idea stretch across a pack, a display, a campaign and a social feed, is just as happy perfecting a mechanical as exploring a new concept, and is already using AI tools to make the work better and faster.

Work Authorization:

To be considered for the Taylor opportunities, candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

KEY TRAITS

  • 360 Creative Thinker: sees how one idea extends from packaging to merchandising, campaigns, social and retail.

  • Versatile Designer: moves easily between brand identity, packaging, layout, campaign and digital content.

  • Technically Precise: builds accurate artwork mechanicals and DTOs and understands print production.

  • AI-Curious and Innovative: uses AI tools to explore ideas, generate content variations and speed up production.

  • Organized and Collaborative: manages details, deadlines and feedback rounds with ease.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design across 360 creative programs: packaging, merchandising and retail displays, integrated campaigns, social and digital content, and brand identity.

  • Develop concepts and extend them into cohesive campaigns and brand systems that work consistently across every touchpoint.

  • Design campaign and advertising assets, including key visuals, print, out-of-home and digital ads.

  • Create social and digital content, and support photo and video shoots from mood boards and shot lists through to final selects.

  • Design merchandising and retail materials, including displays, gift sets, in-store graphics and launch kits.

  • Build accurate artwork mechanicals and DTOs and hand them off to the production team once specifications are aligned.

  • Prepare files for print, working with production on dielines, specifications, color and finishing.

  • Manage the back and forth on retouching and comps, and prepare mockups for client review.

  • Use AI tools for ideation, image exploration, content variations and production efficiency.

  • Work closely with the creative team and Project Manager to deliver on time and within budget.

  • Contribute ideas for pitches, internal thought pieces and social content.

SKILLS & EXPERTISE

  • Strong conceptual, branding and graphic design skills, with a portfolio that shows range across packaging, campaigns, social and merchandising.

  • Experienced user of Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat); motion or video editing skills (After Effects, Premiere) are a plus.

  • Strong typography, layout and art direction instincts for campaign and social content.

  • Strong working knowledge of artwork mechanicals, DTOs, dielines and print production.

  • Ability to render in 2D for presentations; retouching capabilities.

  • Required: working knowledge of AI creative tools (e.g., Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, ChatGPT) and an interest in applying them to design, content and production.

  • Knowledge of packaging materials and structure; 3D rendering experience is a plus.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask, manage multiple priorities and communicate status clearly.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

REQUIREMENTS

  • BFA or BS in Graphic Design, Packaging Design or a related field.

  • 3–5 years of experience in an agency or in-house studio; beauty, fashion or lifestyle experience preferred.

  • Experience designing across packaging, campaigns, social and merchandising.

  • Hands-on experience producing artwork mechanicals and DTOs for print.

  • Required: familiarity with using AI tools in a creative workflow.

  • A portfolio showing 360 creative work alongside production-ready files.
