Full job description

American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are searching for a Production Supervisor at the Tiffin, OH facility. This position will report to the Production Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

Injection Molding

  • Utilize prior experience leading injection molding team, as well as working knowledge of processing plastics.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust molding parameters to maintain quality and maximum product output.
  • Respond to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions.

General

  • Maintains safe and clean work environment.
  • Knowledge of production KPIs and communicate the KPIs to production staff.
  • Evaluate and provide timely feedback on employee performance; motivate and develop a cohesive production team; maintain production and attendance records.
  • Make timely decisions to maintain production output and quickly analyze situations and provide direction to production staff.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to maximize productivity, reduce waste, improve quality, reduce costs, and provide a safe work environment.
  • Monitor processes to ensure productivity and quality standards are being achieved.
  • Analyze and resolve processing issues.
  • Understand escalation process for when issues move from maintenance to engineering.
  • Understand schedules and priorities.
  • Interact well with all levels of the organization.

Safety

  • Report incident reports
  • Understand how to preform root cause investigation and corrective actions.
  • Waste Management and monitoring what is happening on the floor.
  • Effectively communicate with Process / Maintenance when an issue needs to be, so it does not become a safety issue, or give direction due to production demand.

Requirements

  • Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years related experience, Plastic Injection knowledge is a MUST.
  • Hybrid Candidate – Willing to roll up sleeves and be on the floor as well as office management
