Employment Type: Part timeShift: Rotating Shift Description: Position Purpose: At Johnson Memorial Hospital, the Registered Nurses (RN) in the Medical Surgical Unit delivers patient care for adult patients with diverse medical and surgical conditions.

What you will do:

  • Med-Surg nurses continuously assess patients’ conditions, monitor vitals, administer orders and medications, and document progress throughout the patients’ stay.
  • Educate patients and families about their conditions and self-care.
  • Work closely with all physicians and healthcare provider staff for close monitoring of neurological statuses, cognitive functions, motor skills, sensory responses, and other therapies.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school
  • Valid RN License in Connecticut

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • The ideal candidate will have one or more years of Med/Surg experience in an acute inpatient setting.
  • BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

Pay Range: $43.42 - $66.91 per hour

Pay is based on RN experience. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
