Full job description

Employment Type: Part timeShift: Rotating Shift Description: At Saint Francis Hospital, the level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) consists of 28 beds. Preterm and term neonates in need of additional medical and surgical management and highly specialized care are admitted to the unit What you will do:

  • Attend births and provide care for infants with medical complications directly after birth
  • Monitor the health of infants suffering from medical issues, such as prematurity or congenial defects
  • Educate new parents on the care of their infant, including basic infant care, breastfeeding, and safety
  • Contributes to overall quality of nursing care through performance improvement techniques that impact patient care positively
  • Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with admin, colleagues, patients and family members
  • Demonstrates problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN graduate preferred
  • Licensure: Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse RN in Connecticut
  • Certification: BLS CPR. ACLS Preferred
  • Preferred Experience: Acute Care, Medical-Surgical or Maternity nursing experience preferred - Minimum of 2 year's NICU experience required for Per Diem

Hourly Staff RN position; pay range: $36.15 – $59.95/hour

Pay is based on working RN experience only. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

Unit Based Specialty pay available for experienced nurses with one or more years of RN experience
