Title: Transportation Coordinator

Program: City Beets Kitchen

Pay Rate: $24.50 per hour

Program Description:

City Beet Kitchens is a mission-based non-profit catering company. We were established in 1995 as "Comfort Foods" and rebranded in 2015 to "City Beet Kitchens." We cater to large clients in the non-profit space (institutional division) as well as corporate and private events (events division), providing meals, snacks, boxed lunches and specific curated events (e.g, galas, weddings, etc.)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential duties of the Transportation Coordinator include but are not limited to the following activities:

  • Coordinate schedules for drivers for CBK institutional routes.

  • Resolve any issues encountered during deliveries, such as delays or customer complaints.

  • Ensure weekly supplies are delivered to all contracted sites.

  • Maintain clear and effective communication with dispatch/manager, kitchen staff, and customers.

  • Provide timely updates on delivery status and address any questions or concerns.

  • Contact drivers with any scheduling updates.

  • Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback to ensure a positive experience.

  • Verify food orders before delivery to ensure they match customer requests.

  • Address any discrepancies promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.

  • Follow food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure food is delivered in a safe and hygienic manner.

  • Operate a delivery van safely, following all traffic laws and regulations.

  • Navigate routes effectively within the New York area, ensuring timely and safe travel.

  • Deliver food orders to customers within specified timeframes.

  • Optimize delivery routes to account for traffic conditions and ensure efficiency.

  • Safely load and unload food orders from the delivery vehicle.

  • Ensure proper food handling and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • A minimum of 3 years’ professional driving and logistical coordinating experience.

  • A minimum of one year of experience working directly with psychiatrically disabled or addicted individuals.

  • Experience providing recreation for this population extremely important.

  • Knowledge of case management databases and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
