Employment Type: Full timeShift: Day Shift Description: Job Title: Registered Nurse Coordinator- Surgery Employment Type: Full-time Shift: Day (10 hours) Location: Germantown

Position Purpose The Registered Nurse, Coordinator is responsible for the direct and indirect care of patients in the acute care setting. Using the Quality Caring Model, the PCS consistently demonstrates and role models clinical expertise in nursing appropriate to the department or specialty assigned.

As a “Registered Nurse, Coordinator” you will:

  • Precepting and mentoring staff in application of the nursing process to plan and manage the care of patients with non-complex and complex biopsychosocio spiritual needs.
  • Providing clinical teaching and supervision and directing the most appropriate patient assignment for new and experienced staff.
  • Facilitating and participating in staff development, including orientation and training.
  • Participating in performance evaluation and management including verbal coaching and counseling.
  • Participating in the development and/or revision of patient care standards and pathways.
  • Improving patient outcomes through application of evidence based findings to advance nursing practice.
  • Developing patient and staff education materials and serves as a consultant for patient and staff education needs.
  • Proactively identifying areas of concern and collaborates with the health care team to problem solve and find solutions.
  • Promoting unit specific certifications and advances in education, and participation in the clinical advancement program.
  • Developing and monitoring quality improvement issues and assures staff team members are competent to provide care for patients.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with BSN or MSN.

  • Minimum of 5 years of specialty specific experience in an acute care setting

  • Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.

  • BLS certification (American Heart Association)

  • Reads, writes, speaks and comprehends English language.

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex and comprehensive information thoroughly and succinctly

Pay Range: $41.46 – $64.31 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

FT/PT Benefit eligible Roles: **0.5 FTE (20 hours weekly) up to 1.0 FTE (40 hours weekly)
