Chaplains provide spiritual care to patients, families and caregivers, fostering spiritual resources for healing. Spiritual care is a component of healing, so meeting others where they are and helping them during troubled waters is a vital part of a Chaplain's role.
A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) on-call hours. You must have availability 24/7 and be on-site within 30 mins.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Provide education and consultation for physicians, nurses, and other caregivers.

Provide spiritual care and counseling for patients, families and caregivers of all faith groups, ages and conditions.

Foster spiritual resources for healing.

Provide crisis and ongoing care.

Work regular and on-call hours.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Satisfactory completion of a minimum of four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education
-
OR Bachelor's degree, 3 years of ministry experience & satisfactory completion of one (1) or two (2) units of Clinical Pastoral Education with expectation to get four (4) CPEs within two (2) years of hire

Credentialing, certification, or eligibility within two (2) years by a certifying organization or certification as an Association of Clinical Pastor Education (ACPE educator)

One (1) year of ministry experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Master's degree of Divinity or equivalent
Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
-
Must be able to climb stairs, pull, push, and facilitate movement of the patient.

Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
-
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
-
Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment.
-
In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
-
In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $24.50
Maximum hourly: $24.50
