Full job description

We are seeking a Senior Technical Project Director - Rail/HSR to join our team of dedicated professionals and help deliver transformative infrastructure projects that shape the future of transportation. In this technical leadership role, you will contribute your knowledge of rail and high-speed rail projects spanning planning, design, operations, maintenance and systems interface contributing to successful delivery on scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.

As Technical Project Director you will be responsible for establishing project priorities, setting technical standards, providing technical and quality oversight, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholder teams and clients. This role offers the opportunity to demonstrate technical expertise and leadership qualities required to guide multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project execution and support high-level decision making.

  • Professional Engineering License in California or evidence of past license

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field

  • Minimum 18 years of progressively responsible project management experience including planning, budgeting, execution, and successful project delivery

  • Minimum 8 years of experience working directly on US based High Speed Rail planning and design projects

  • Extensive Knowledge of the rail industry, including rail track, high speed rail, rail bridges and tunnels, and/or rail grade crossing design and construction

  • Proven ability to manage multiple rail or railroad projects simultaneously and within a complex operating environment.

  • Strong technical and leadership skills and experience working in a dynamic matrix organization, collaborating with regional and local leadership teams with private and public sector members, and supporting business development, marketing, and project delivery efforts.

This is a part-time, limited term position, that may or may not be extended for additional time.
