Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to lead, manage and direct HR policies, procedures, and practices for a region. This is a hands-on management role that will involve the standardization and implementation of new and existing policies, processes, and procedures; whilst ensuring that these initiatives are aligned to Corporate HR guidelines, goals and objectives.
What you will be doing

Lead, manage and develop regional HR initiatives and deliverables
-
Ensure that all regional processes and procedures are aligned to and in compliance with Corporate HR standards, policies, and procedures
-
Ensure that all stations are in compliance with all federal, state and company regulations and policies
-
Advise locations across business units on HR and labor relations issues
-
Advise management on issues regarding union-management relations, such as contract negotiations
-
Assist with developing and reviewing union contracts and agreements
-
Assist with the negotiating collective bargaining agreements with various unions including USW, Teamsters, SEIU and IAM
-
Partner with management to ensure implementation and compliance to HR policies, practices and union agreements
-
Meet with elected union officials and lead labor management meetings
-
Oversee dispute resolution involving employees, management, unions and government agencies

Manage grievance procedures

Stay apprised of employment law changes and industry trends in

Facilitate HR and labor relations training and development for management and supervisory staff

Train, mentor and develop HR staff

Collaborate with Recruitment and Training to ensure that recruitment and training initiatives are supported and implemented across the region

Prepare weekly and monthly HR reports

What we are looking for:

A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
-
Experience in aviation, ground handling, fueling or cargo operations strongly preferred
-
Experience working with mergers and acquisitions a plus
-
Must be proficient in federal and state labor regulations (interpretation and application) with specific focus on Railway Labor Act issues
-
Must be skilled in new hire onboarding, LOA/FMLA processes, Cobra, benefits, and workers compensation processes
-
An understanding of specific labor relations needs, and challenges related to a company’s collective bargaining agreements and business strategy
-
Negotiation, mediation, arbitration, problem solving, strategic thinking and leadership skills required

Experience in employee investigations, grievance handling, arbitration hearings and CBA negotiations
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to inspire trust and confidence with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels as well as working cross-functionally with senior management within the organization

Ability to perform duties independently and with a great degree of accuracy, meeting established deadlines, working effectively under continual interruptions and heavy workload
-
Must be able to work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues
-
Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents
-
Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
-
Ability and willingness to travel frequently

Must pass pre-employment and drug tests

Ability to lift 35
