Production Editor, Children’s Publishing

The Production Editor will oversee scheduling, trafficking, and production editorial work for approximately 45–60 titles per year across imprints publishing picture books, middle-grade and teen fiction and nonfiction, and graphic novels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage production editorial schedules and workflow to ensure quality and timely publication.

  • Copyedit and proofread materials, maintaining accuracy and consistency.

  • Assign and supervise freelance copyeditors and proofreaders.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of book production editorial experience.

  • Strong copyediting, proofreading, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple titles and competing deadlines.

  • Experience supervising freelancers.

  • Strong Mac and Adobe InDesign skills.
