Hypebeast is looking for a Golf Editor to lead day-to-day editorial for Hypegolf, working as part of our editorial team in the US. Golf has become one of the most style-driven sports in culture, and Hypegolf covers it from that angle: the apparel, gear, collaborations, courses and personalities shaping the new generation of the game. We’re looking for a journalist who knows golf, knows Hypebeast, and can package the space into stories our audience wants to read.

Responsibilities:

  • Write, edit and publish golf content across Hypebeast, keeping the direction aligned with the Hypegolf brand.

  • Source trending news and features across golf apparel, equipment, collaborations, tournaments, courses and culture.

  • Secure exclusive interviews and first looks through PR teams, brands, talent managers and your own network.

  • Plan and manage the Hypegolf editorial calendar, including key moments such as the majors and seasonal product launches.

  • Work with Hypegolf and Hypegolf Japan social members, and with the Hypebeast and Hypebae social teams, on cross-publication and distribution.

  • Coordinate golf content across regions (North America, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Korea) to keep coverage consistent.

  • Analyze story performance and use the data to grow traffic and engagement.

  • Develop ideas for golf activations, events and brand partnerships with the Sales and Hypemaker teams.

  • Work closely with the Hypebeast editorial team to keep golf coverage aligned with the wider editorial direction.

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience in digital publishing, editorial content creation or distribution with a publisher, brand or agency.

  • Strong knowledge of golf, from the pro tour to the brands and culture around it, plus a solid grasp of Hypebeast content.

  • Industry contacts in golf brands, PR or talent are a strong plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; clean, engaging copy on deadline.

  • Proficient in WordPress; basic Photoshop knowledge.

  • Comfortable using website and social data to make editorial decisions.

  • Self-directed and organized, able to manage multiple projects across teams and time zones.

  • Flexibility to work some nights and weekends, including around tournaments in US and European time zones.

If you think you’ve got what it takes, please send your cover letter, CV, three English writing samples (ideally including golf or sports coverage) and expected salary.

This position is based and located in New York. Candidate must be eligible to work in the US.
