Full job description

Description We are looking for an In-House Counsel to join a growing renewable energy organization in Tomball, Texas. This position works closely with the General Counsel and business leaders to provide practical legal advice across a broad range of company matters. The role is well suited for an attorney who is comfortable balancing legal analysis with business priorities in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate commercial agreements that support day-to-day operations and strategic business needs.

  • Contribute legal guidance on corporate transactions and related business initiatives as the organization expands.

  • Counsel internal teams on compliance obligations, regulatory considerations, and enterprise risk issues.

  • Advise management on employment matters, workplace practices, and internal policy interpretation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver legal solutions that align with operational goals.

  • Conduct legal analysis and support the development of internal policies, governance practices, and documentation.

  • Monitor potential areas of legal exposure and recommend preventative steps to reduce risk.

  • Serve as a trusted internal resource for contract, corporate, and commercial law questions across the business. Requirements • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

  • Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

  • At least 3 years of legal experience, including in-house or closely related corporate legal work.

  • Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate contracts with strong judgment and precision.

  • Knowledge of corporate law, contract law, compliance, and general business legal matters.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

  • Clear communication skills and a practical, solutions-oriented approach to legal counsel.

  • Experience in environmental, construction, or manufacturing law is helpful but not required.
