DESCRIPTION OF WORK This role supports the health needs of the offender population by delivering direct nursing care and assisting the broader medical team. You will use hands-on clinical skills to support daily health operations and maintain safe care practices. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will perform the following duties: 1. Clinical Support: Provide routine nursing care and assist practitioners and registered nurses during daily procedures 2. Health Assessments: Complete screenings and take part in physical health evaluations for offenders 3. Medication Duties: Administer medications safely and follow established medical guidelines 4. Emergency Response: Assist during medical emergencies and support team efforts to stabilize conditions 5. Training Participation: Attend in service sessions and contribute to maintaining compliance with inspection standards 6. The Department of Corrections is staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 3. 1st shift: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm; 2nd shift: 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm; and 3rd shift: 10:00 pm to 6:30 am. 4. Work hours TO BE DETERMINED. 5. Alternative work schedules may be available, depending on operational needs. 6. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. 7. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 8. All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Necessary Special Requirements: 1. This position requires active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practice Nurse in Pennsylvania. 2.
