Full job description
About Chai Discovery Chai builds the design suite for molecules. We train frontier models that learn the underlying foundations of biochemical structure and interaction, so scientists can move faster and pursue targets that other methods cannot reach. AI is reinventing life sciences the same way it reinvented software engineering, and Chai is at the forefront of this shift. Leading pharmaceutical companies like Eli Lilly, Pfizer, and Novartis are adopting our platform to power their drug discovery programs. We value diverse perspectives and are ready to find greatness in unexpected places. About the role We are making our first marketing hire, someone we trust to refine and establish the Chai brand: How we show up online and off, the stories we tell, the people we promote, the places and moments where people form an impression of us. Our audiences range from pharma executives and scientists to AI researchers and engineers. We need someone who can raise the bar while taking that load off of our founders:
-
making key moments count at JPM, partner events, and the AI and science conferences where we need to stand out;
-
building platforms that give our founders and researchers more reach;
-
making Chai more legible and compelling to the engineers and researchers we want to hire, including those with no background in biology;
-
putting a playbook in place so we can move faster.
This role is not about demand gen or social media maxxing. It's about authentically and persuasively connecting with the thin slice of humanity who needs to know about us today and might be inspired to partner with us or join us. About you You are a brand builder with taste and operational discipline. You can set a creative direction and hold an agency to it, and are also hands-on enough to rewrite a headline yourself, fix a slide, chase an event vendor, or sweat the details of a dinner. You chart your own course. You have been close to building at least one respected technology brand. You may have been a founding marketing team member at a high-growth startup, led brand or creative at a design-forward company, or run experiences at a firm known for them. Biotech or pharma experience isn't required; genuine curiosity and ability to quickly are. We offer The opportunity to work at the vanguard of AI research and frontier biology, with world-class people, on a mission that matters. We protect & promote a culture of high velocity and ownership. We compensate our team accordingly.
