Full job description

Job Summary: Responsible for day to day clinical pharmacy services including pharmacist supervision, scheduling and staff training. Responsible for keeping labor cost at or below budget. Supports pharmacy team with formulary management and drug shortages. Serves as coordinator and support person for Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Value Analysis Committee and Medication Safety Committee. Has oversight for Pharmacy Residency programs and Antimicrobial Stewardship. Develops, implements, and manages high performing clinical programs and services as it relates to clinical pharmacy, medications safety and formulary management. Serves as an effective pharmacy liaison to the medical and nursing staff.

Qualifications: BS or PharmD in pharmacy from an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy and current North Carolina pharmacist license required. Pharmacy residency, or equivalent post graduate pharmacy educational and management experience preferred. Requires five years of pharmacy experience with a minimum of three years of increasingly responsible health care systems pharmacy experience. Board certification required within 18 months of hire. Thorough knowledge of medications in clinical pharmacy practice settings. Considerable ability to communicate effectively with hospital personnel and physicians. Considerable ability to manage and motivate people. Ability to view pharmacy services in health system context and meet customer needs accordingly is required.
