HR Manager – Human Resources
Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Salary: $90,000–$100,000, depending on experience
The Opportunity
Kelly Services is seeking an experienced HR Manager to support a manufacturing operation in the Bronx, NY. This is a hands-on HR leadership role supporting employees and managers across employee relations, labor relations, talent acquisition, performance management, workforce planning, compliance, and employee engagement.
The ideal candidate will have strong employee relations experience and the ability to partner confidently with leaders in a fast-paced manufacturing or regulated environment. Union/labor relations experience and Spanish/English bilingual skills are strongly preferred.
What You'll Do

Serve as a trusted HR advisor to employees and leaders on employee relations, performance management, investigations, workplace policies, and conflict resolution.

Lead employee relations investigations and recommend fair, consistent, and legally compliant resolutions.

Coach managers on performance issues, corrective action, attendance, employee development, and workforce planning.

Support labor relations, including contract interpretation, grievance administration, employee concerns, and interaction with union leadership.

Assist with collective bargaining preparation and labor strategy.

Partner with leadership on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, retention, and change management.

Lead full-cycle recruiting for professional, technical, and operational positions.

Partner with hiring managers on recruiting strategy, talent pipelines, succession planning, internal mobility, and onboarding.

Lead performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Oversee HR compliance, audits, reporting, leave administration, accommodations, and employee documentation.

Analyze HR and workforce data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and provide recommendations to leadership.

Support compensation planning, promotions, organizational structure, employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.

Partner with Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and other functional leaders on business and workforce objectives.

Support GMP requirements and understand their impact on employees, processes, and products.

Oversee HR operational processes, employee communications, timekeeping, employee records, access management, and workforce administration.

Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, efficiency, and the overall employee experience.
What We're Looking For
-
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Relations, Organizational Development, or a related field.

5–8 years of progressive HR experience, including significant employee relations experience.

Experience supporting manufacturing, operations, distribution, or another regulated environment.

Union workforce and labor relations experience strongly preferred, including grievances, contract interpretation, and collective bargaining support.

Experience with workforce planning, talent management, organizational change, and leadership development.
-
Strong knowledge of employment laws, labor relations, and HR best practices.
-
Excellent employee relations, investigation, conflict-resolution, and coaching skills.
-
Strong business judgment and ability to partner with leaders at multiple levels.

Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
-
Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee matters with discretion.
-
Spanish/English bilingual proficiency is required or strongly preferred.
-
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.
