Assistant Technical Trainer - Service

Job Description:

The Assistant Manager - Technical Training contributes to the development and delivery of technical training programs that support repair technicians, technical support teams, and customer service functions. This role builds strong technical and instructional expertise while driving standardized training across global service networks.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position is responsible for delivering high-impact training focused on:

• Electrical diagnostics

• Mechanical aptitude

• Diagnostic troubleshooting

• Tool platform knowledge

• Repair execution and quality control

The role combines technical knowledge of power tools, diagnostics, and repair processes to ensure learners can confidently diagnose, service, and support products while upholding Milwaukee Tool’s standards for durability, performance, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Training Development & Delivery

• Deliver technical training programs across instructor-led, virtual, and hands-on formats

• Develop curriculum including training guides, job aids, and assessment tools

Technical Expertise

• Apply knowledge of product systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures

• Interpret technical schematics, drawings, and service manuals

• Demonstrate best practices in troubleshooting and repair execution

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Engineering, Service, and Quality teams

• Align training programs with new product launches and existing product updates

• Ensure consistency and standardization across global training efforts

Continuous Improvement

• Measure training effectiveness using defined metrics and feedback loops

• Update training materials based on product changes and field insights

• Drive ongoing enhancements to training delivery and content

Required Qualifications

Education

Associate’s degree in Engineering, Technical Education, Applied Technology, or equivalent experience

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in technical training, service operations, or product support

• Experience delivering both classroom and virtual training

Technical Knowledge

• Power tools and electromechanical systems

• Battery technologies and systems

• Diagnostic methods and service procedures

Skills

• Instructional delivery and facilitation

• Technical writing and content development

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS)

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical certifications relevant to product or service functions

• Experience developing structured training programs or curricula

• Exposure to global training environments

• Familiarity with service performance metrics

• Fluent Spanish proficiency preferred including professional-level speaking, reading, and writing to support technical training delivery

• Other Requirements

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (approximately 30–40%)
