Full job description

Overview

Microsoft's Commercial Marketing teams are in a period of rapid evolution. AI is changing how content gets made, and the teams that adapt will reach customers faster and with more consistent quality.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager, AI Content Capabilities to lead that shift as part of our Marketing Technology organization, building AI-powered products and reusable content capabilities that will enable 900+ marketers to own more of the path from idea to finished, on-brand content. This individual will bridge marketing content expertise and technical implementation, working across content capability leads, Engineering, Design, and platform teams to prototype AI-powered skills, define how their quality is evaluated, and establish reusable patterns for grounding, orchestration, integrations, and human review. They will help take capabilities from experimentation through implementation and scale, ensuring teams reuse proven approaches rather than solving the same technical problems independently across content types. The ideal candidate combines strong product instincts with hands-on AI prototyping experience and technical depth across LLMs, agents and skills, APIs, data and context, and application integrations. You are energized by ambiguity, comfortable building and testing emerging capabilities, and able to turn an idea into a validated experience and path to scale.

Responsibilities

  • Define and scale reusable technical patterns for AI-powered content capabilities, including skill and agent design, grounding and context, orchestration, integrations, human review, and evaluation approaches that can be applied across content types and marketer scenarios.

  • Prototype AI-powered skills and experiences using generative AI platforms, agents, APIs, low-code tools, and code where appropriate to test hypotheses, validate approaches, and establish a clear path to production.

  • Establish the evaluation and improvement framework for AI-generated marketing content, translating content and Brand quality standards into repeatable evaluation criteria, test sets, and measurement approaches that identify gaps and continuously improve outputs.

  • Translate marketer needs into product and technical requirements, including workflows, data and context, grounding, integrations, Brand requirements, user experiences, dependencies, and success criteria.

  • Shape solutions with Engineering, Design, and platform teams, informing architecture, technical tradeoffs, integration patterns, and implementation decisions while identifying shared components that should be built once and reused across capabilities.

  • Codify and continuously improve AI content development best practices, turning learnings from individual capabilities into repeatable patterns, guidance, and frameworks that accelerate development across the portfolio.

  • Measure capability performance and drive continuous improvement, using evaluation results, customer feedback, usage, quality, and business outcomes to identify opportunities and influence roadmap priorities.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Proven ability to take ambiguous customer or business problems through discovery, product vision, requirements, experimentation, MVP, and scale.

  • Hands-on experience designing, prototyping, or shipping generative AI products, agents, applications, or workflows and evaluating their effectiveness.

  • Demonstrated experience shaping technical solutions with Engineering and Design, with fluency in APIs, application integrations, data and context management, and AI/LLM concepts.

  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders across organizational boundaries.

  • Experience applying AI to marketing, content creation, creative, or other complex knowledge-worker workflows.

  • Experience with LLMs, agents, skills, MCPs, grounding and retrieval patterns, APIs, and platforms such as Azure AI Foundry, Copilot Studio, M365 Copilot agents, and/or Model Context Protocol (MCP).

  • Experience defining or implementing evaluations for AI or LLM-powered products and using results to improve product performance and output quality.

  • Experience with marketing technology, Brand systems, creative tooling, knowledge systems, or content operations
