Full job description
Crusoe is on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack — from electrons to tokens — to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster.
We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that — with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI.
We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved — people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services.
If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.
About the Role: Crusoe Cloud runs AI infrastructure at a scale where a single firmware or software baseline can determine whether thousands of GPUs deliver for our customers. As a Staff Technical Program Manager, you will own the end-to-end release lifecycle for versioned firmware and software baselines across our GPU fleet. That covers everything from scoping and qualification through phased rollout and production deployment. This is a builder role: you will run complex releases across Compute, Networking, Storage, Orchestration, and Operations, and you will design the release calendars, validation frameworks, and metrics that let Crusoe scale them predictably.
We’re looking for an engineer-rooted TPM who is comfortable in the white space between teams and who earns trust with engineers and vendors through technical depth and execution rigor. You’ll identify risks before they surface, drive alignment across engineering leads without direct authority, and give leadership clear, data-driven decision points. This is a full-time position.
What You'll Be Working On:
-
Own the Release Lifecycle End to End: Lead versioned firmware and software baselines from scoping and definition through qualification, validation, phased rollout, and production deployment across a large GPU fleet.
-
Orchestrate Cross-Functional Releases: Drive release programs across Compute, Networking, Storage, Orchestration, and Operations. Set entry and exit criteria, layered validation, domain sign-offs, and go/no-go decisions.
-
Lead Fleet-Wide Upgrade Campaigns: Coordinate upgrades on live production clusters with Operations and customer-facing teams, including maintenance planning, rollback strategies, and risk mitigation.
-
Drive Security and CVE Response: Partner with engineering leads to make fast, well-reasoned decisions on security patches and CVEs, and fold them into the release train.
-
Govern Vendor Relationships: Work with OEMs, ODMs, and component and silicon suppliers on firmware fixes, validation timelines, and roadmaps. Escalate and resolve issues that put Crusoe’s schedule at risk.
-
Build the Machine: Design lightweight, scalable release calendars, validation frameworks, Jira workflows, and metrics that make Crusoe’s release process predictable as the fleet grows.
-
Surface Risk and Drive Decisions: Maintain real-time visibility into release health, map cross-team dependencies, and deliver crisp executive updates that spotlight decisions and trade-offs.
-
Improve Continuously: Lead retrospectives after major releases and feed the learnings back into the process. Apply AI tools to improve tracking, risk detection, and communication across your programs.
What You'll Bring to the Team:
-
Program Leadership at Scale: 10+ years as a Technical Program Manager in infrastructure, hardware, or platform engineering, including release or change management at fleet scale.
-
Server Firmware Expertise: Working knowledge of the server firmware stack, including BMC, BIOS, GPU firmware and drivers, and NIC and switch firmware.
-
Influence Without Authority: Proven experience running validation or qualification programs across many engineering teams without direct authority.
-
Risk and Dependency Management: Ability to anticipate what will break before it does, then drive mitigation plans and rollback strategies for live production environments.
-
Process Builder’s Mindset: Track record of creating fit-for-purpose frameworks, such as release calendars, validation gates, and metrics, rather than forcing programs into rigid templates.
-
Executive Communication: Ability to translate complex technical status into clear, data-driven updates and decision-ready recommendations.
-
Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
Bonus Points
-
Experience at a GPU cloud provider or hyperscaler managing large-scale fleets (thousands of nodes).
-
A track record of driving firmware currency and compliance programs across a production fleet.
-
Hands-on experience with vendor escalation management, including driving OEM/ODM and silicon partners to fix and validate firmware on tight timelines.
-
Familiarity with AI accelerator platforms and the dependencies between firmware, drivers, and cluster networking.
-
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Benefits:
-
Competitive compensation and equity packages
-
Restricted Stock Units
-
Paid time off, paid holidays & leave of absence programs
-
Comprehensive health, dental & vision insurance
-
Employer contributions to HSA account
-
Paid parental leave

-

-
