Full job description

The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Virginia, seeks candidates for a clinical faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level, for our Multi-Disease Position, with a subspecialty focus on Breast Cancer, with a secondary focus in another area of medical oncology as a clinician/investigator. Clinical track, rank, and tenure status are dependent upon qualifications.

The successful candidate will strengthen the clinical and clinical research efforts in breast medical oncology utilizing the excellent translational research opportunities and resources available at the University. Additionally, the incumbent will attend inpatient and outpatient services and participate in multidisciplinary team care and clinical research within the Cancer Center for a growing number of patients with breast cancer. As an integral part of the educational mission, the incumbent will actively participate in the teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students. This faculty position is designed for physicians focused on a career of clinical investigation and the provision of outstanding clinical care, including active participation in our educational mission.

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent and be board-certified in Internal Medicine by the appointment start date. Board eligibility or board certification in Medical Oncology is required. Evidence of expertise in the care of patients with breast cancer is required.
