Full job description

Job Type: Regular

Work Location: Remote - TX - Dallas

Overview: 2020 Companies is looking for a Full-Stack Developer Lead: a builder who can also lead. You will design and ship the applications our field teams, clients, and internal teams use, from the database to the screen, on Microsoft Azure.

Most of your week goes to writing code: new applications, APIs, and AI-powered features. The rest goes to leading our development team and the contractors and overseas developers we bring in for specific projects, reviewing their work and setting the standards they build to. You will work directly with the VP of Technology on what gets built and in what order, and you will own what you ship after it goes live.

What We Offer

  • A hands-on role building applications used every day by more than 5,000 field representatives across 60+ client programs
  • A small, technical team where what you build ships and gets used
  • Real work with AI: building features on large language models, not just talking about them
  • Room to grow as the team and its work expand

What's in It for You?

  • Competitive salary
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Generous paid time off
  • Hybrid or fully remote flexibility
  • Ongoing professional development

Job Description: Key Responsibilities

  • Full-Stack Development: Design, build, and ship web applications and APIs on Microsoft Azure, from the database to the user interface
  • Prototype to Production: Turn working prototypes into production applications with automated tests, monitoring, security, and a release plan
  • AI-Powered Features: Build features on large language models, such as document intake, search, and assistants, within our AI governance standards
  • Integrations & Data: Connect applications to Salesforce, Workday, and Microsoft 365 through their APIs. Design data models and services that reporting and other teams can rely on
  • Technical Leadership: Run day-to-day development: plan the work, break it into tasks, review code, and clear blockers. Mentor developers and review contractor and overseas work before it ships
  • Engineering Standards: Set the standards the team builds to: source control, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, and documentation
  • Business Partnership: Work with business owners to shape requests into clear, buildable requirements with honest estimates, and report progress in plain terms
  • Ownership: Own your applications after launch: deployments, performance, fixes, and user feedback

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years building and shipping web applications, working on both the front end and the back end
  • 2+ years as a tech lead or senior developer guiding others: design decisions, code reviews, and mentoring

Technical Expertise

  • Strong in at least one back-end language (C#/.NET, TypeScript/Node.js, or Python) and a modern front-end framework such as React
  • Relational database design, SQL, and REST API development
  • Microsoft Azure (App Service, Functions, Azure SQL) or another major cloud platform
  • CI/CD and source control in GitHub or Azure DevOps
  • Automated testing, application monitoring, and secure coding practices
  • Effective use of AI coding assistants, with the judgment to check what they produce

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Explains technical choices and trade-offs clearly to people who aren't technical
  • Leads by example, writing code the team wants to follow
  • Comfortable owning outcomes on a small team with a long list of requests

Preferred Skills

  • Features built on large language model APIs: retrieval, document processing, or assistants
  • Salesforce or Workday API integrations
  • Microsoft Entra ID single sign-on and app registrations; Microsoft Fabric or Power BI
  • Mobile-friendly web apps for people working in the field
  • Experience in field marketing, retail services, staffing, or other multi-client businesses
