Full job description

❖ Why LinqAlpha Our mission is to build the alpha intelligence layer for global public markets. We equip portfolio managers, analysts, and sales teams at the world’s leading hedge funds, asset managers, and investment banks with AI-native deep research, meeting intelligence, and structured / alternative data analytics that compress days of institutional workflow into minutes. We are not incrementally improving how finance runs. We are rebuilding the substrate underneath it.

Why a vertical AI layer for institutional finance matters. Every serious investor asked us the same question during our Series A: what stops a horizontal model provider from doing what LinqAlpha does? The answer is where finance actually lives. Real investment workflows sit inside proprietary data, regulated environments, and years of institutional context that no general model has access to. We build the vertical layer that turns raw capability into decision-grade output the buy-side actually trusts. Today we deliver as SaaS. Next is API and MCP-based agent delivery. Ultimately we deliver as VPC and on-prem inside the largest Wall Street institutions. That progression is the moat, and it is not something a horizontal model provider can lift and shift.

This is a defining moment to join. We just closed a $22M Series A, co-led by AVP (formerly AXA Venture Partners) and GFT Ventures with our existing lead Atinum Investment following on, joined by a global syndicate that includes Z Venture Capital and SBI Investment in Japan, Betatron in Hong Kong and Singapore, SV Investment, East Ventures, NuVentures, and leading Korean institutions across Samsung Securities, Mirae Asset, Shinhan, NH, and Hana. Almost every investor is already deeply engaged with us. This round is not just capital, it is a distribution engine. We have 70+ paying institutional clients, 90%+ retention, and a plan to grow 10x every 12 months across six connected offices: New York, Boston, Seoul, Hong Kong, Singapore, and London.

The bar inside the team is high. We take talent density seriously, and we take our users even more seriously. Our team is sharp, motivated, and deeply committed to the mission. We take ownership of complex problems and stay relentlessly focused on our users. If you thrive in a fast-moving environment, demand excellence in yourself and the people around you, and want to help set the standard for AI-native infrastructure in institutional finance, this is where you should be.

❖ The Role We are looking for an exceptional, hands-on Design Lead to shape LinqAlpha’s product experience. You will design both traditional UI/UX and AI-native, agentic experiences, from data-intensive research interfaces to the ways investors delegate work to agents, review their reasoning, and act on findings.

This is a builder-first role reporting directly to our CPO. You will own complex problems from discovery to launch, working closely with Product, Engineering, and AI. As we scale, you will help shape the product design organization and grow into a player-coach, mentoring and leading designers while remaining hands-on.

❖ What You’ll Do

  • Own end-to-end design: Work directly with customers to uncover problems, frame opportunities, explore solutions, test hypotheses, and take designs through implementation.
  • Design UI/UX and agentic experiences: Make complex financial data and research workflows intuitive, and define how investors direct agents, monitor their work, verify findings, and stay in control.
  • Build AI-natively: Use AI-powered tools throughout your workflow to independently build interactive, functional prototypes, explore alternatives, and iterate with customers and engineers.
  • Drive measurable outcomes: Set clear success metrics, make principled trade-offs, and use customer feedback and product data to improve what ships.
  • Raise the design bar: Establish design principles, reusable patterns, and quality standards, and help shape the design organization as the team grows.

❖ Who We’re Looking For

  • Exceptional product judgment: You independently identify the right problems, deeply understand users, reason from first principles, and navigate difficult user, business, and technical trade-offs.
  • Outstanding design craft: Your portfolio demonstrates excellent interaction design, information architecture, and visual design, especially in making complex workflows remarkably simple.
  • Proven AI-native prototyping: You are highly proficient with tools such as Claude, Figma Make, and Cursor, and routinely use them to independently build and refine functional, interactive prototypes, not just static mockups.
  • Fluency in agentic product design: You can thoughtfully design agent autonomy, context, progress, verification, uncertainty, and human oversight while maintaining a high bar for traditional UI/UX.
  • Ownership and leadership: You communicate clearly, challenge assumptions constructively, collaborate deeply with cross-functional teams, and take accountability for the quality and measurable impact of your work.

❖ Nice to Have

  • Experience in investment research, financial services, or capital markets
  • Experience designing complex B2B SaaS, enterprise, or data-intensive products

❖ Location US time zones. Remote within the US, or our New York office.

❖ Compensation

  • Equity participation and full benefits package

❖ Why Join LinqAlpha

  • Up and to the right. 70+ paying institutional clients, 90%+ retention, growing 10x every 12 months. Real momentum, and we are still early
  • Extraordinary team. We take talent density seriously. You will do the best work of your career alongside some of the sharpest people in AI and institutional finance
  • A one-of-one problem. Bringing AI to the core of how institutional finance runs is one of the most consequential problems in the market today, and most of its hardest questions are design questions
  • Real ownership. You will be our first Design Lead. You set the design bar, the patterns, and the team that follows
  • Always at the frontier. We work at the edge of what the best models can do and turn it into products the buy-side actually trusts
