The Regional Director of Foster Care with StepStone Youth and Family Services, part of the BrightSpring Health Services family, provides strategic and operational leadership across multiple states (GA, OH and WV), ensuring exceptional care delivery, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and organizational effectiveness. The ideal candidate will live in one of these states and be willing to travel within their region.

The Regional Director leads with purpose—developing high-performing teams, strengthening community and funding partnerships, optimizing budgets and business operations, and championing continuous quality improvement. They work closely with Executive Directors and corporate leadership to identify opportunities, solve complex challenges, strengthen recruitment and retention, and ensure consistent execution of organizational goals and balancemission, people, quality, compliance, and financial stewardshipto create thriving programs that deliver meaningful outcomes for children, youth, and families.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development of the annual operating budgets for each location and ensure expenses comply with budget constraints and revenue meets or exceeds budgeted goals

  • Develop and maintain contact with current funding sources, potential funding sources and, if applicable, local and state legislators and political leaders. Maintains awareness of funding source/client requirements and legislation that impacts business operations and liability

  • Ensure locations are compliant with client/funding source and regulatory requirements, company and corporate policies and procedures

  • Ensure the provision of quality service consistent with applicable laws/regulations and corporate policies/guidelines/standards. Oversee and participate in quality assessment and performance improvement activities

  • Work directly with Executive Directors and other support staff to identify and resolve any issues relevant to the efficient and successful operations of each location. Assist state directors in development of recruitment, retention, and succession plans

  • Ensure effective operation and communication

  • Review/approve location policies based on the company’s mission, care standards and business practices, and compliance with corporate policies and procedures

  • Drive a culture based on Trauma Informed Care

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Master's Degree in Business or Human Services, or Bachelors degree with extensive experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience and/or the proven ability to effectively manage systems, processes, and people.

  • Experience providing services in social services and community-based setting

  • Supervisory experience with at least 3 direct reports

  • Experience or ability for strategic development and management at an executive level.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Maintains relevant professional licensure/registration/certification in the state of practice, if applicable.
