Full job description
Elmwood Park, IL LPNs needed for in-home nursing with female child/young adult who is medically-fragile and technologically dependent. Care includes g-tube feeding and mgt, seizure mgt, and trach care. You will be joining a diverse team of nurses who have shared the joy of caring for this special girl for many years. Training is available to experienced or new nurses with the aptitude and passion for pediatric work. Full-time, part-time, or PRN assignments are available in 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts. Responsibilities * Implement care and treatment using sound judgment and critical thinking * Provide accurate, detailed, and timely documentation consistent with the plan of care and the nursing process * Prepare, administer, and appropriately document actions taken specific to the commonly prescribed oral, topical, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications. * Observe, reports, and record adverse reactions to medications and/or treatment to the school nurse * Perform all skill, treatments, and procedures to the scope of practice as defined in the Nurse Practice Act in the state of clinical practice and adheres to the policies, procedures, and protocols of the agency * G-tube, seizure management, diabetes education a plus. Qualifications * Graduated from National League of Nursing accredited practical or vocational school of nursing * Unencumbered license as a Practical or Vocational Nurse in Illinois * Proof of recent Physical clearance and Negative TB test or chest x-ray (within one year) * Current CPR (in-person training only)
