School Aide

School-Based Paraprofessional

Location: Monroe, MI and surrounding areas

Pay: Starting at $20 per hour

Schedule: Approximately 35 hours per week

Contract: 36-week school-year assignment

Start date: September 8, 2026

Job Summary

We are hiring compassionate, dependable School-Based Paraprofessionals to support students with academic, behavioral, developmental and social-emotional needs. Positions are available in elementary, middle and high school settings throughout the Monroe area.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in schools, pediatric care, childcare, behavioral support or special education.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group academic and behavioral support

• Assist students with classroom assignments, routines and transitions

• Reinforce learning strategies and positive classroom behaviors

• Support behavior plans and interventions established by the school team

• Encourage student engagement, independence and social skills

• Help maintain a safe, structured and inclusive classroom environment

• Collaborate with teachers, specialists and school personnel

• Document observations and student progress as assigned

Qualifications

• Experience working with school-age children in a school, pediatric, childcare, behavioral or related setting preferred

• Familiarity with academic, developmental or behavioral challenges

• Strong patience, reliability and communication skills

• Ability to follow individualized support plans and accept direction from school staff

• Comfortable working with students in elementary, middle and/or high school

• High school diploma or equivalent required; school or special-education experience strongly preferred

Schedule and Pay

• Monday through Friday school schedule

• Approximately 35 hours per week

• 36-week contract during the 2026–2027 school year

• Starting pay of $20/hour

• Assignment begins September 8, 2026
