Full job description

Emergency Housing Shelter Associate

Be a part of the solution to the local housing crisis by offering hope and stability to homeless families and those at risk of becoming homeless. OFO's Emergency Housing Assistance Program (https://ofoinc.org/find-program/emergency-housing) is hiring compassionate individuals to provide support to homeless families, children, and individuals requesting services through the 24-hour hotline and 24/7/365 emergency shelter. As Emergency Housing Shelter Associate you will:

  • Provide coverage at the emergency homeless facility and answer the 24-hour hotline

  • Collaborate with other community organizations to address housing and other client needs (e.g. food, transportation, employment)

  • Support case management plans for shelter clients

  • Maintain a safe, secure, clean shelter environment by overseeing shelter activities, ensuring residents have essential supplies, and addressing any facility concerns

The following hours/shifts are available:

  • Full-time position works 40 hours/week, 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm, Mon-Fri; eligible for $1.00/hour additional shift pay

  • Full-time position works 30 hours/week, 10:00 pm - 8:00 am, Fri-Sun; eligible for $1.50/hour additional shift pay

  • Part-time position works 16 hours/week, 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm, Sat-Sun; eligible for $1.00/hour additional shift pay

  • Substitutes work hours as needed by the program, especially second shift and overnight hours. Additional shift pay is available for qualifying shifts .

  • ​Overnight shifts receive $1.50/hour additional shift pay

  • Second shift hours receive $1.00/hour additional shift pay

  • Weekend day shifts receive $0.65/hour additional shift pay

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED/HSED; one year of relevant experience in human services
