Full job description

Overview Evaluates and treats patients of all ages who suffered loss of upper, lower extremities function, balance, coordination, endurance, or present with pain, or wounds/burns due to illnesses, trauma, or surgery. This position creates a treatment plan based on assessment findings and works with patients and families to achieve the highest possible level of independence. Responsibilities PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)

  • Designs and implements treatment plans based on assessment findings.

  • Documents assessments and interventions accurately and timely.

  • Educates patients and family members.

  • Evaluates patients muscle strength, ROM, endurance, balance, pain, skin integrity and overall function level.

  • Participates in multi-disciplinary meetings and case reviews.

  • Supervises PT and PTA students as needed.

  • Supervises PTA and Aides as needed. Qualifications JOB SPECIFICATIONS(Minimum Requirements)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrates proficiency in oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrates good interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrates flexibility in order to meet unanticipated demands and priorities.

  • Knowledgable in the principles of growth and development over life span.

  • Possess skills to work with patients of all ages from infant to geriatric.

  • Ability to perform work safely at all times adhering to the safety policies and procedures as well as the National Patient Safety Goals.

  • Ability to perform all duties in a courteous and kind manner placing the patients and families needs first.

  • Ability to assist other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelors Physical Therapy Required

  • 1 Healthcare/Medical - Physical Therapy Preferred

  • Licensed Physical Therapist

  • Certified Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation
