Full job description

The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a tenure-eligible faculty position specializing in Vitreoretinal Surgery. The department currently serves as the ophthalmic referral center for central and western Virginia and parts of West Virginia, North Carolina, and eastern Tennessee. The abundance of the patient volume provides excellent opportunities for advancement in ophthalmology. Salary, rank, and tenure are commensurate with education and experience.

Qualified candidates must have an MD or equivalent and must have completed a fellowship in surgical retina by appointment start date. The incumbent must be committed to a career in academic medicine and interested in combining clinical practice with resident education and/or research.
