Just for Kids, awarded Employer of the Year by Buffalo State and the University at Buffalo, is looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and motivated Program Manager in our Williamsville School District and Sweet Home District who have a passion for working with today’s youth and whose everyday priorities align with Just for Kids core values: to provide an engaging, enriching, and safe out of school experience.

Just for Kids is a community-centered non-profit organization that offers before and after school and summer programming in the Amherst, Cheektowaga Central, Cheektowaga Sloan, Cleveland Hill (Cheektowaga), Grand Island, Sweet Home, and Williamsville Central School Districts. We also offer programming at The Park School of Buffalo, Saints Peter and Paul School in Hamburg, St. Benedict School in Amherst, St. Mary's School in Swormville, and Nardin Academy in Buffalo.

Position Summary

The Program Manager oversees the daily operations of the assigned NYS OCFS licensedJust for KidsBefore & After School location. To oversee the implementation of preplanned activities and create supplemental appropriate and engaging activities as needed for participants in a safe, supervised, structured environment, in alignment with OCFS regulations.

  • Oversee the implementation of age appropriate daily activities and model appropriate activities to staff as needed.

  • Schedule spaces of groups of children based on size, activity and maintaining ratios.

  • Manage staff working at the program location and ensure staff are providing direct, competent supervision of children at all times.

  • Create and disseminate regular staff communication to include upcoming week’s activities, schedule changes, special guests, etc.

  • Ensure a positive work environment for staff.

  • Timesheet approval and performance evaluations for staff.

  • Maintain positive daily communications with children and their families, staff, District operations, and the Just for Kids program at large.

  • Maintain accurate record keeping.

  • Any other duties specified by the Director of Just for Kids School Age Programs.

Schedule:

After school programs follow the District/School calendar, Monday through Friday, from dismissal (1:30pm -2:30pm depending on location) through the close of program (5:30pm or 6:00pm), plus planning time, and biweekly Program Manager Meetings. Depending on district/location morning hours commence from 7:00am/7:15am to start of school day. Current openings are Before and Afternoon programs. Five-day availability required. 12-month employment options available through our break camps and summer camps.

Requirements

  • Before employees are eligible to start working, they must be cleared through NYS OCFS. This includes the completion of several background checks, medical clearance, and fingerprinting.

  • Regular and predictable attendance

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience working in childcare

  • 1 year supervisory experience in a childcare position

  • 18 credits in education or a related field

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood Education preferred

Physical Requirements:This position is very active and requires walking, bending, kneeling, running, twisting and squatting. This position includes prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending. Generally, must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at a time.

Salary Description

$18.00 - $22.00 / Hour
