Job Description
Job Summary
Under general supervision, perform assembly, integration, alignment, troubleshooting, and testing of advanced electro-optical imaging systems and related subsystems. This role supports the production and verification of complex sensor systems by performing optical, mechanical, and electrical assembly activities, executing test procedures, troubleshooting system issues, and ensuring products meet performance and quality requirements.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with electro-optical systems, optical imaging equipment, lasers, sensors, or other complex electronic and mechanical systems. Candidates with strong technical aptitude, troubleshooting abilities, and a demonstrated ability to learn complex technologies are also encouraged to apply.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, schematics, technical manuals, and procedures to perform assembly and test operations.

Assemble, integrate, align, and adjust electro-optical, mechanical, and electronic components and subassemblies.

Perform functional testing and verification of electro-optical imaging systems, sensors, and associated hardware.

Conduct optical alignment activities, including laser operation, optical path verification, focus adjustment, and calibration activities.

Operate computer-based test equipment, diagnostic software, and automated test systems to verify system functionality and performance.

Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, optical, and electro-optical issues using digital multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other diagnostic equipment.

Identify root causes of failures and work with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues.

Apply adhesives, epoxies, bonding compounds, and other materials in accordance with approved manufacturing procedures.

Perform precision mechanical and optical adjustments to achieve alignment and performance specifications.

Document test results, inspections, process completion, and troubleshooting activities in electronic systems.

Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and documentation requirements.

Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure product reliability, performance, and mission-critical quality.
Required Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
-
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude.
-
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and technical documentation.

Basic computer skills.
-
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for short durations.
-
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, processes, and equipment.
Preferred Job Qualifications
-
2+ years of experience testing, troubleshooting, assembling, calibrating, or supporting complex electronic, electro-mechanical, or electro-optical systems.

Experience with electro-optical systems, optical imaging systems, infrared imaging equipment, sensors, lasers, photonics equipment, or related technologies.
-
Experience performing optical alignment, calibration, or laser-based testing activities.
-
Experience using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), signal generators, and other electronic test equipment.
-
PCB assembly, soldering, or electronics manufacturing experience.
-
Experience in aerospace, defense, photonics, medical device, semiconductor, scientific instrumentation, or similar technical manufacturing environments.
