JOB DESCRIPTION

Complete disassembly and reassembly of cab, hood, and all related body parts of a motor truck. Must be able to repair and prepare body parts for painting.

ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS

  • Uses all tools of the trade, shop machines, power tools, and welders. Able to maintain these along with his personal tools.

  • Reads and understands blueprints and technical publications, including service manuals and service bulletins and is able to use information contained in then o do their own work and to instruct others in performance of theirs.

  • Must be able to determine usability of all component parts and must be able to list and order all needed parts.

  • Must be able to write a good description of all work performed on each individual repair.

  • Must be able to use or learn to use the computer to punch on and off repair orders.

  • Performs repairs in an accepted time standard.

  • Ability to perform all tasks in a safe manner.

  • Ability to use and train helpers in a productive manner.

  • Ability to follow Bruckner policy and procedures implied and expressed.

  • Works with a minimum of supervision.

MARGINAL TASKS

Must be willing to do other miscellaneous functions as required; clean up, steam clean, salvage yard, etc. as related to the business.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

High school or equivalent. Must be wiling to take continuing education courses as deemed necessary. Must be able to speak and understand English for job and safety reasons.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Three years minimum experience at the truck mechanic trade.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have good upper and lower toolbox with all needed hand tools to perform necessary repairs to trucks, including a ½ inch air impact wrench. Interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers in a positive and constructive manner. Must be able to take instructions and interact cooperatively with supervisors. Overtime flexibility. Must have CDL drivers license. Must maintain a professional appearance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to pass a physical, including a drug test. Must be able to lift 50 pounds from the floor to waist high, and 25 pounds to shoulder high. Must be able to climb around in the engine compartment, frame areas, and underneath the truck.
