Job Title: Positive Support Specialist

Position Overview:

As a member of Mains'l's Wellness Team, the Positive Support Specialist partners with individuals with developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental health needs to improve quality of life through person-centered, evidence-based behavioral supports. Working in homes and community settings, this role implements Positive Support Plans, teaches new skills, provides coaching to support teams, and collaborates with families and professionals to help people achieve meaningful outcomes.

In this role, you'll help people build new skills, increase independence, and experience greater success in their homes and communities through compassionate, evidence-based support.

Salary: $19.00 / hour

Work schedule: Part-Time, 20 hours a week, Flexible Hours, 2-3 weekday evenings, Every other Weekend

Your day-to-day work may include:

  • Implement Positive Support Plans and behavioral interventions developed by Positive Support Professionals and Behavior Analysts.

  • Teach and reinforce skill acquisition programs that increase independence and quality of life.

  • Meet with families, support teams, and other stakeholders to review progress and identify opportunities for continued growth.

  • Provide input and feedback on therapeutic interventions and data collection .

  • Collect, document, and analyze behavioral data to monitor outcomes and support treatment planning.

  • Provide coaching and modeling to direct support staff, families, and other team members using person-centered practices.

  • Build collaborative relationships with internal and external partners to ensure consistent, high-quality services.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and billing in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Two years of supervised experience supporting individuals who exhibit challenging behaviors and co-occurring mental health needs

  • Experience implementing behavioral or therapeutic interventions

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, or a related field

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or working toward certification

  • Experience training or coaching others

  • Knowledge of Positive Behavior Support, person-centered practices, and trauma-informed care

  • Experience with personal safety training programs (PCMA, MANDT, or QBS Safety Care)
