Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Hyattsville, Maryland. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate payments.

• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial records.

• Utilize Excel to analyze data and create detailed financial reports.

• Perform reconciliations for accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

• Generate and review aging reports to monitor outstanding balances and collections.

• Handle collections activities, maintaining clear and effective communication with clients.

• Conduct accurate data entry to update financial systems and records.

• Collaborate with the team to prepare corporate tax returns and sales tax filings.

• Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect accurate financial information.

• Work closely with a small accounting department to support overall financial operations. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable and receivable management.

• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.

• Strong knowledge of corporate tax, including preparation and filing.

• Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and financial reporting.

• Experience in account reconciliation and resolving discrepancies.

• Familiarity with aging reports and collections processes.

• Ability to perform accurate and efficient data entry.

• Excellent communication skills for collaborating within a team environment.
