Where the work lives

A tracker assumes the search happens somewhere else. You find a job on a board, save it, and the tracker becomes the place you run the search from. That's a sound way to work if your jobs are scattered: niche boards, company pages, a friend's forwarded link. Teal is built around that, and the contact side is where it goes furthest. Someone you met at an event, the company they work at and the role you're chasing can all sit together with a date to follow up.

Olive starts from the other end. You say what you're after, the openings come back in the same conversation, and the fit read, the résumé rewrite and the practice all know which posting you mean. You give up the contact list and the freedom to pull in any job from anywhere, and you get fewer tools to switch between.

So the question to ask yourself is where your jobs are. If most of what you want is a US role Olive lists, the tracker side of Teal is more than you need. If your search lives in other people's inboxes, Olive won't hold it together for you.

When Olive is the simpler choice

You'd rather not assemble a system. You want to build the résumé by talking instead of filling in a form, know how you stack up against a posting, and rehearse out loud. How Olive works lays out each part, and our guide to résumé keywords and ATS is useful whichever tool you pick.
