Should a technical recruiter resume list a contract role that ended?

A contract the client cancelled mid-engagement stays on the résumé, marked as a contract, with the roles a technical recruiter closed by level and function before the cancellation. The entry comes off only if the engagement ended before a single req closed, because then it offers nothing but dates. Omit a real engagement and the months become a blank a recruiting manager asks about; call it permanent and the abrupt end reads as something hidden.
What the cancelled contract line carries
The title line says how the engagement ran: contract technical recruiter, and the client named or described by industry. The same line says which seat you held, because the staffing firm's desk and the client's team aren't the same story. Under it go the roles closed by level and function, then the funnel you can talk through stage by stage, then the cancellation as a clause stated as the client's decision.
A cancelled hiring project leaves a technical recruiter with a pipeline stopped mid-stage: candidates at onsite, offers in draft, a hiring manager who's just lost headcount. Closing that pipeline down cleanly is recruiting work. Say how many you dispositioned and how fast.
Reading the market back to a hiring manager who doesn't want to hear it is the job, so a client pulling the project isn't a blemish but the last work the entry shows.
The recruiter screen version of the cancelled project
Expect the short entry to come up in the recruiter screen, and answer it with a funnel, not a story. Give the reqs you opened by level and function, the pass-through at each stage, and where the pipeline stood when the client pulled the project. A hiring manager gets the same account, and you're hired to give it.
The entry comes off only when the engagement ended before you closed anything, since a résumé line with dates and no closes invites the question and hands you no answer. The months then fold into the engagement before them as contract work with the same staffing firm, and the cancellation becomes a single sentence in the recruiter screen.
