Description
The Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University seeks a board-certified/board-eligible Pulmonary and Critical Care physician to join the faculty of the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. The Division is recognized for excellence in patient care, medical education, and scholarly activity and is home to a thriving ACGME-accredited Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program. Faculty practice within a collaborative academic environment that includes nationally recognized programs in pulmonary hypertension, lung cancer evaluation, interventional pulmonary, and sleep medicine. Stony Brook University Hospital, Long Island's premier academic medical center and tertiary referral center, offers a broad spectrum of inpatient and outpatient pulmonary and critical care services, including 24-hour intensivist coverage in a closed Medical Intensive Care Unit. Faculty have the opportunity to teach medical students, residents, and fellows while contributing to the continued growth and innovation of the Division.
The Division maintains a strong commitment to research and academic scholarship, with active programs in critical care outcomes research, cardiac arrest and resuscitation science, critical care echo and pulmonary ultrasound, pulmonary inflammation, aerosolized drug delivery systems, sleep-related disorders, and population health research. We seek individuals who are enthusiastic about advancing patient care, education, and scientific discovery, with opportunities to develop independent clinical, translational, or basic science research programs.
Stony Brook is located in Suffolk County on Long Island and offers an excellent quality of life, including outstanding schools, beautiful beaches, outdoor recreation, and convenient access to New York City.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must possess an MD or equivalent degree, be Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Diseases, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Critical Care Medicine, and Tastamur status or Board Certified in Critical Care Echo.
