Operations Team Leader

Ensure the safety of all personnel on Shift / in the Plant - Thorough understanding of all Standard Operations Procedures - Communicating with and be aware of all persons in the Plant and their whereabouts - Continuous upkeep and update on all safety procedures - Fully comply and follow the Bargaining Union Contract - Supervise Crew members, all classifications. - Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products; including coordination of all activities necessary, per Shift, to ensure that Batteries and all necessary Ovens are pushed and charged according to the Pushing Schedule - Comply with all State and Federal Safety and Environmental regulations - Coordinate efforts between material handler, Power Company in its co-generation capacity and primary customer. - Conduct staff / Crew meetings as required - Report, investigate and communicate all accidents, incidences and problematic issues with the proper personnel - Prepares operational and staffing schedules to coordinate manufacturing activities, including preparation of overtime schedules, to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications. - Per Shift, completes and reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. - Directs the inspection machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. - Manages logistics: inbound/outbound train schedules dumping/reloading - Reviews and assures compliance to standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards. - Collaboratively works with Human Resources Manager to resolve worker issues in a timely manner. - Responsible for directing and functioning as a team member to meet or exceed coking production schedules. - Performs other duties as assigned. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Shift Lead Responsibilities: Directly supervises 10 - 25 employees in the Production. Carries out Shift Lead responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
