Description

Position Summary: The Composite Quality Auditor at ACT Aerospace ensures that all composite components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes meet the strict standards required for aerospace applications. This role supports ACT’s commitment to producing high‑performance, flight‑critical composite structures by conducting thorough inspections, process audits, and documentation reviews in accordance with AS9100 requirements and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities: • Perform detailed in‑process, final, and receiving inspections of composite parts and raw materials used in ACT Aerospace manufacturing. • Audit composite layup, debulk, cure, trim, bonding, machining, and finishing processes to verify compliance with work instructions and aerospace quality standards. • Validate conformity to engineering drawings, travelers, shop packets, and ACT manufacturing specifications. • Document non‑conformances, quality observations, and process deviations using ACT’s Quality Management System (QMS). • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to resolve discrepancies and verify corrective actions. • Maintain traceability and accurate quality documentation for customer, regulatory, and internal audits. • Use precision metrology instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, surface measurement tools, and applicable NDT equipment (ultrasonic, tap‑test). • Support compliance with AS9100, customer-specific requirements, and ACT Aerospace procedures. • Provide coaching and feedback to operators to reinforce quality expectations and manufacturing best practices. • Participate in root cause analysis, corrective action activities, and continuous improvement initiatives to uphold ACT’s commitment to quality and reliability.

Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED required; additional technical education preferred. • 2+ years of aerospace composite manufacturing or quality experience preferred. • Working knowledge of composite fabrication processes such as prepreg layup, autoclave curing, bonding, machining, and finishing. • Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, or other aerospace quality systems. • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, travelers, and process sheets. • Skilled in using precision inspection tools and basic NDT techniques. • Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and adherence to aerospace standards. • Effective communication and teamwork skills. • Basic proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office, QMS or ERP systems.

Physical Requirements: • Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, and lift up to [insert weight] as needed. • Ability to wear PPE and work within manufacturing or controlled composite environments. • Ability to work around autoclaves, ovens, composite materials, and production tools safely.
