Full job description
New York University College of Dentistry (NYUCD) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate or Research Scientist (PhD required) to join the laboratory of Dr. Shoshana Yakar in the Department of Molecular Pathobiology. The successful candidate will carry out hands-on bench work using a broad range of molecular and cellular biology techniques, including RNA, protein, and metabolite extraction from cells and tissues, qRT-PCR, Western blotting, and the maintenance of primary and established cell cultures. The role also involves measuring cellular bioenergetics (such as mitochondrial respiration and glycolytic activity), analyzing and presenting data, keeping accurate laboratory records, and contributing to manuscripts and grant applications.
We are looking for a dedicated, reliable, and well-organized individual who is fully committed to the work, takes ownership of their projects, works carefully and independently, and communicates well within a team.
NYU offers attractive benefits, and the salary will reflect the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $62,500 - $70,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Applicants must hold a PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, physiology, or a related field and have proven, hands-on experience with RNA, protein, and metabolite extraction, Western blotting, and tissue culture.
Experience with assays of cellular bioenergetics (for example, Seahorse XF analysis, oxygen consumption, ATP measurement, or mitochondrial function assays) is required. Candidates should be able to document this experience through publications, prior work, and references.
Interested individuals are encouraged to submit their CV, contact details of three references, and a statement describing their hands-on experience with the techniques listed above and their future aspirations by selecting the "Apply Now" button.
