Taconic Rehabilitation & Nursing at Beacon is looking to add a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to its rehabilitation team. In this role, you'll work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic interventions that help residents improve function, maintain independence, and achieve their highest level of performance. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement occupational therapy treatment programs under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist

  • Assist with resident assessments and contribute to treatment planning within the COTA scope of practice

  • Provide therapeutic interventions focused on improving functional abilities, ADLs, mobility, strength, and independence

  • Monitor resident progress and communicate findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist

  • Complete documentation, care plans, billing, and clinical records accurately and timely

  • Educate residents, families, and staff on therapy techniques, adaptive equipment, and home exercise programs

  • Train and support rehabilitation aides as assigned

  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, discharge planning, and quality improvement initiatives

  • Ensure residents receive prescribed therapy services and treatment minutes

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate of Applied Science Degree from an Occupational Therapy Assistant program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association

  • Valid New York State Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) License required

  • Newly licensed COTAs welcome to apply

  • Skilled nursing facility experience preferred

  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members

  • Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care
