Full job description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Vice President, Manufacturing Engineering holds executive accountability for defining, scaling, and optimizing all aspects of manufacturing engineering across the entire Anduril enterprise. This role encompasses strategic development, execution of multi-year operational roadmaps, technological and process advancement, and organizational leadership across all product lines, production sites, and divisions. The VP will ensure consistent, rapid, and high-standard execution, driving efficiency, scale, and performance that directly contribute to Anduril's mission and market leadership. This role sits centrally and is responsible for ensuring that every division builds against a common standard.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Own the overarching manufacturing engineering strategy, operational roadmap, and resource budget for Anduril's centralized manufacturing engineering organization.

  • Develop and champion a multi-year scaling strategy to meet exponential growth targets, changing operational constraints, and evolving customer demands.

  • Strategically allocate resources (talent, capital, systems, facilities) across competing priorities, balancing urgent tactical needs with long-term capability building.

  • Establish and enforce the enterprise standard for how Anduril builds production line operation, manufacturing systems usage, process design, and engineering practice, and hold division production leadership accountable to it.

  • Own the roadmap for centralized capabilities, ensuring they are built to scale across product lines.

  • Partner with and influence the VPs and Heads of Production across all divisions, setting technical direction for organizations that do not report to you.

  • Drive consistency in how manufacturing engineering roles are defined, leveled, and expected to perform at every Anduril site, and deploy leadership and IC talent across the enterprise accordingly.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering, production operations, or industrial engineering within a hardware/physical-product environment, with 5–7+ years at the executive level (VP or Senior Director) leading multi-team or multi-site organizations.

  • Exceptional presentation, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills; capable of aligning C-suite leaders and motivating frontline operators alike.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (or a related engineering/technical discipline). Master's degree or MBA preferred.

  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience navigating high-mix/low-volume transitions into high-volume/mass delivery.

  • Background in fast-paced, high-accountability sectors (e.g., aerospace, defense, deep-tech, autonomous systems, high-growth industrial tech).
