Opportunity Overview

Teradyne is seeking an experienced Reliability Design Engineer to join our team in North Reading, Massachusetts. In this role, you will apply reliability engineering methods throughout product development and production ramp-up. The position focuses on robotics and automation systems, with particular emphasis on performing life testing for durability, repeatability, and identifying design changes that improve service life of electromechanical mechanisms exposed to repetitive motion and other operating stresses. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design automation solutions that improve system availability and product reliability. All About You

Hold a BSEE, BSME, or equivalent degree and reliability engineering experience with electrical and electromechanical assemblies. An advanced degree in reliability engineering, mechatronics, mechanical, or industrial engineering is preferred. If this describes you, review the skills for the position:

  • Develop and execute accelerated life-test plans for robotics and automation systems.

  • Analyze test and field data to identify reliability risks and failure mechanisms.

  • Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT)

  • Lead or contribute to DFMEA and Design for Reliability activities.

  • Build reliability models and make recommendations that improve product life and system availability.

  • Partner with mechanical, electrical, systems, quality, and manufacturing engineering teams

  • Proficiency with statistical and reliability software tools (e.g., Weibull++, BlockSim, Alta preferred, Ansys Sherlock).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • High energy with strong presentation and training skills

  • Ability to travel approximately 10%

Teradyne is a major supplier of automation equipment for test and industrial applications. Teradyne Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) is used to test semiconductors, wireless products, data storage and complex electronic systems, which serve consumer, communications, industrial and government customers. Our Industrial Automation products include collaborative robots, autonomous mobile robots and sensing and simulation software, used by global manufacturing and industrial customers to improve quality and increase manufacturing efficiency.

We are only considering candidates local to position location and are unable to provide relocation for this position.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is $141,400 - $226,200. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.

Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
