Job Description

The Department of Emergency Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Coordinator (Research Coordinator 2 (NE S UAW Research)) to join their team.

OVERVIEW:

The department of Emergency Medicine is seeking an experienced RC2 to serve as the primary coordinator overseeing day-to-day operations of a large pragmatic multi-center randomized controlled trial. Reporting to the Clinical Research Operations Manager and working closely with Principal Investigators, the RC2 will support the VICTORY and VICTORY-CART trials, which compare vasopressor strategies for post-cardiac arrest shock across 17 U.S. hospital sites.

The RC2 will oversee all aspects of trial coordination including development and maintenance of study protocols, standard operating procedures, and training materials; onboarding and ongoing support of site coordinators and clinical teams at all 17 enrolling centers; real-time monitoring of enrollment, protocol adherence, and data quality across sites using REDCap and automated reporting tools; coordination of regulatory submissions and amendments with the BRANY single IRB; preparation of reports for the Data and Safety Monitoring Board, PCORI, and the Steering Committee; and identification and resolution of protocol deviations, crossover events, and site-level barriers to enrollment.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience coordinating multi-center clinical trials, demonstrated experience managing remote site relationships and collaborating with multidisciplinary research teams, strong proficiency with REDCap and clinical trial data management systems, and familiarity with FDA regulations, Good Clinical Practice guidelines, and waiver of informed consent or Exception from Informed Consent trial frameworks. This role requires responsiveness in a dynamic acute care research environment with competing operational and regulatory deadlines. Experience in emergency medicine, critical care, or another acute care research setting is highly desirable, particularly experience with cardiac arrest research or pragmatic clinical trials.
