Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Onsite. Columbia Heights, MN

Full Time / Direct Hire

Compensation: $85,000-140,000K

Overview

A growing organization is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support and improve enterprise IT infrastructure across multiple locations. This role focuses on infrastructure operations, cloud technologies, troubleshooting, security, modernization, and technical projects.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically versatile, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with distributed teams and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support enterprise servers, cloud services, identity, endpoints, networking, virtualization, and storage.

  • Support Azure infrastructure, hybrid environments, and integration between on-premises systems and cloud platforms.

  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, connectivity, performance, identity, and system issues.

  • Perform patching, upgrades, monitoring, configuration, backup, and recovery activities.

  • Provide Tier 2/3 infrastructure support.

  • Lead or contribute to cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, integrations, and other technical projects.

  • Support security initiatives, access management, system hardening, and infrastructure reliability.

  • Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.

  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on enterprise IT infrastructure engineering experience.

  • Strong practical experience with several of the following: Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure/Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Hyper-V/virtualization, networking, endpoint/patch management, and backup/recovery.

  • Hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure, Entra ID/hybrid identity, Azure VMs, Microsoft 365, cloud migrations, or integrating on-premises systems with Azure.

  • Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure across multiple locations or environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure, cloud, virtualization, and identity issues.

  • Experience with infrastructure projects, upgrades, migrations, or technology implementations.

  • Familiarity with PowerShell, automation, or similar technologies.

  • Understanding of cybersecurity and infrastructure best practices.

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code or automation tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or PowerShell.

  • Microsoft certifications.

  • Experience with distributed or operational environments.

  • Experience with infrastructure migrations or technology integrations.

Additional Information

  • Approximately 10–15% travel may be required.

  • Some flexibility outside standard business hours may be expected.

  • Estimated compensation: $85,000–$140,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
