Position Description:
Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions:
-
Provides Endocrinology consultations and clinical services in an inpatient/outpatient setting
-
Collaborates with leadership group(s) to improve quality of care in inpatient setting
-
Engages in extensive and on-going communications with community primary care physicians
-
Completes all medical records and documentation accurately and timely to assure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory, licensure, and accreditation requirements
-
Participates in multidisciplinary outpatient responsibilities, based on candidate’s interest
-
Supervises residents and participates in teaching activities for medical students and/or residents
-
Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship
-
Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties
-
Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission
-
Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine’s Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Ensures compliance with HIPPA and billing regulations

Required Qualifications:

M.D. or D.O. degree

Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in Internal Medicine
-
Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship training in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism
-
Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine
-
Texas medical license or eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Texas
